New privacy regulation in the general terms and conditions for .be domain names as of 25 May 2018

12.04.2018

New general terms and conditions will enter into force for .be domain names as of 25 May 2018. In the new version, we have replaced Article 7, which deals with the processing of the contact data of the registrant and how we protect them. This additional change is necessary to comply with the GDPR.

In Article 7, we explain which personal data we need and process in order to be able to register domain names. We also refer to our privacy policy where you will find all useful information on your rights and on the way in which we process your data. The new conditions shall enter into force on 25 May 2018 and shall apply to all .be registrants (for existing and newly registered domain names).

If you have a .be domain name, you will get a message in the coming weeks, either from us or from your registrar - the company with which you have registered your domain name.

The new version is available on our website,  where you will find the main changes as well.

What do you need to do?

In principle, you need do nothing. The new conditions shall apply automatically for your registered .be domain names. If you do not agree with the new version of the terms and conditions for one reason or another, it is best to cancel the registration of your .be domain names as soon as possible.
