Good governance
In terms of good governance, we'll continue to comply with the ten basic principles laid down in our Corporate Governance Charter over the coming years. Our board of directors monitors this annually.
Good relationships with stakeholders
DNS Belgium (pro)actively maintains good relationships with all stakeholders. Twice a year we have structural meetings with our registrars and at least once a year, our legal & corporate affairs manager meets with the relevant authorities.
We also actively seek partnerships and are members of network organisations and federations such as ICANN , CENTR , the Cyber Security Coalition, VCDO etc. We try to play a pioneering role in all these organisations.
Cybersecurity
Keeping the internet secure in Belgium is one of our core duties. We take a great many initiatives to provide a secure experience to internet users. But we also make every effort to guarantee the performance of our own systems of course.
DNS Belgium has been ISO certified for cyber security for years. We want to keep it that way and obtain ISO certification 27001 for cyber security in the future as well.
Combating internet fraud and illegal content
Combating illegal content and internet fraud in Belgium is an important social duty of DNS Belgium. This is why it's embedded in our policy.
Our R&D department continues to do research into cyber security and develop new tools to combat internet fraud and illegal content. To do this efficiently and stay apprised of the latest developments, we enter into partnerships on a national and international level, for example with the Cyber Security Coalition and European TLD ISAC (European Top Level Domain Information Sharing and Analysis Center).
In recent years, we've gone to great lengths to detect and identify fraudulent domain names, including with registrant verification. And we'll continue to do so in the future.
SDG Ambassador
As SDG Ambassador, DNS Belgium is exemplary in the field of sustainability. We'll continue to actively promote the sustainability initiatives we take by communicating about them at least monthly on our channels.
Every year, we'll take at least 10 successful sustainability actions linked to the SDGs - as we have done in previous years - to achieve VCDO certification every time.
