We recently implemented the Registration Data Access Protocol or RDAP for .brussels and .vlaanderen, as required by ICANN . RDAP is a protocol to query registration data and is the successor to WHOIS . More information on the advantages of using this protocol can be found on the ICANN website.
These are the production URLs for .vlaanderen and .brussels:
Examples of queries:
-
query of a domain name: https://rdap.nic.vlaanderen/domain/nic.vlaanderen
-
query of registrar information:
-
https://rdap.nic.brussels/entity/DNS%20Belgium%20vzw (official registrar name) or
-
https://rdap.nic.brussels/entity/9998 ( IANA ID)
-
This is the URL for the test system:
More information on how to implement and configure RDAP can be found on our documentation website.
